No Wonder Journalists Have a Bad Rap in Science

Read this moron's interview with Richard Dawkins. I love when journalists push their own agenda during an interview...

Interesting... yep, the reporter did insert his own feelings into the question, but I gotta say that I completely disagree with the approach Dawkins uses to get his point across. You aren't going to get religious people in this country (which is a big majority) to get excited about science when you call them idiots and their beliefs stupid. I think religion and science are perfectly compatible, and his approach is extremely unproductive. I haven't read any of his books, I should see if the library has any...

  2. Let's give journalists a break. If journalism were easy, Katie Couric or employees at TIME would do it.

  3. Agreed, Jen. I have mixed feelings about Dawkins; I don't buy his argument completely, but he does make some interesting points. The man is a brilliant theorist.

  4. Jen,

Dawkins language may be strong and he might call certain ideas stupid but that is because he thinks they are and from what I have seen backs up his assertions. He does have some "issues" with religion.

I strongly recommend The God Delusion. Oh by the we just had Dawkins at KU and the next day the paper's headline said

    "Theoretical physicists blasts ID" hmmmm...
